A large number of Ren'Py adult game and visual novel developers use Daz or various Illusion games to create renders and animations for their Ren'Py projects.
As Daz Assets most developers use a combination of assets from the Daz shop and other shops, notably Renderotica for genitalia etc..
Only a minority of developers using Ren'Py and Daz make their own 3D models. Most of them are limited to some level of customization in Daz Studio.

What is the most common practice of adult game developers using Unity and Unreal Engine when using real 2d and 3d characters in a game and not pre-rendered images and animations?

Where do assets like genitalia in Unity and Unreal games most often come from, since it's probably not from the official Unity or Unreal store?
Is it usually some kind of import of models from Daz Studio? Or is it common for adult game developers to make their own 3D models for Unity and Unreal?

I can tell you my limited experience in Unreal. Take what i write as my personal experience, because when making a game a lot of your assets need to keep the same style or at least follow the same stylistic choice (realistic, stylized, cartoonish and so on).

As a hobbyist, my time and money are limited, so my starting point is the Daz library: Daz models are rigged very well but they are a bit on the high poly count side to be used directly in game, not to mention that the rig itself is a bit too complicated to work well in a game (better to rerig your characters anyway, in my case to standard UE4 mannequin).
So if i feel like the model is too high poly i retopologize it and transfer the rig, this is especially true for genitalias which are very dense. Though for female genitalias i keep the daz models as they already have morphs and they come in very handy.

There are Unreal and Unity assets that come with fully rigged genitalias (generally female) but it is difficult to find what you need because the choice is very limited and the poly count is high anyway (a bit lower than daz).

For clothes, it is easier to model something easy by yourself: shirts, pants, underwear and armors (if they are simple enough) don't take a lot of time to model (ad rig).

Animations, well, you have to make them on your own, there is no universal library, you can start to look at daz library but you are going to have a bad time if you try to retarget them directly on your rig. It's less work to make them from scratch and you are sure they work well with your rigs. As you make more and more animations they start to look better and better (far from professional ones though).

For everything that's not "NSFW" the marketplace has you covered.

This is my experience for a zero budget workflow. Obviously if you can/want spend money you can hire many professional people that will make characters, animations and anything you need.

Hardly zero budget since using DAZ3D in real time requires interactive license which is more expensive than standard.

Forgot an "almost" zero budget, unless you do everything by yourself you end up spending some money somewhere. But anyway, when you retopologize a 3d model, you remake it from scratch, even if it is like using "tracing paper", but technically you are not distributing the original 3d file. I'm not a lawyer so don't take my word for it.

Edit: typo

I don't think most developers active on F95zone are actually buying those DAZ assets, especially the interactive license, at least until their project starts generating noticeable income. If someone gets to the point where they're making thousands of dollars a month making porn games, then maybe that's a different story, but for most it's a hobby project with an income that can't be enough to make a living.
